When Justin Moore sat down to write "Til My Last Day," he drew inspiration from the catalog of ZZ Top. Justin explains, "I remember I was listening to a ZZ Top album on a flight I had or something, and I kept going back to 'Rough Boy.' I was like, 'Man, I really need to write something like that.'" He continues, "My producer and I went in and started writing and tried to get the feel of a 'Rough Boy' sounding song. I don't know if it came across sounding that way or not, but I really like it. It's my wife's favorite song on the record."
